Goulash

Ingredients
2 tablespoons oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 kg stewing steak, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
2 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons paprika
pinch mixed herbs
1 green or red pepper, sliced
2 tomatoes, skinned and chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 cup stock
2 cups cooked rice

Heat oil in a pan and brown onion. Add the meat, flour, salt, paprika, herbs, peppers, tomatoes and tomato paste, finally adding the stock. Stir well. Simmer gently over a low gas flame for 1½ hours. Serve goulash with rice.
