Meatballs in Hot Tomato Sauce

500 g minced steak
½ cup raw rice
2 onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
salt and pepper
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons flour
¼ cup oil
½ teaspoon chilli powder
1 x 450 g can tomato juice

Mix together steak, rice, onions, garlic, seasonings and egg. Form into balls then toss in flour. Fry in heated oil until golden brown. Pour off excess oil, add chilli powder and tomato juice, cover and bring to the boil over a high gas flame. Reduce flame and simmer gently for 1-½ hours.
